Steps
Introduction & Exploration (10 minutes)
Provide one type of natural item (e.g., various rocks).
Let students freely explore and brainstorm all the different ways it could be used.
Record their ideas on a chart.
Sorting Activity (15 minutes)
Present a mix of natural objects.
Encourage students to sort them in as many different ways as they can (by size, shape, color, texture, etc.).
Offer tools like trays or paper plates for organizing.
New Sorting Challenge (10 minutes)
Challenge students to sort the objects in a completely different way than before.
Offer suggestions if needed, or refer to the experience chart.
Invite students to collect more items from an outdoor area if possible.
Creative Art Extension (15–20 minutes)
Ask: “How can we use these objects to create something beautiful?”
Let students create rubbings, mobiles, collages, or other artistic expressions using the materials.
Display their creations in the classroom.
Wrap-Up (5 minutes)
Reflect on the different ways students sorted and created.
Ask: “What did you discover about these objects? What surprised you?”
