Description:

A creative art activity where students design their name to reflect their identity, interests, and self-confidence.

Materials Needed:

  • Paper, markers, crayons

  • Scissors, glue

  • Other decorative art materials

  • Examples of logos, trademarks, and symbols

  • A sample name design created by the teacher

  • Chart paper or whiteboard

  • Lesson script

Objective(s):

Procedure:

  1. Introduction

    • Tell students they’ll be creating a design using their name that shows who they are.

  2. Establish a Supportive Environment

    • Review classroom agreements to ensure a safe and respectful space.

  3. Connect to Visual Culture (Older Students)

    • Show examples of logos or symbols and discuss how they represent identity or purpose.

  4. Model the Activity

    • Share your own name design and explain the personal elements (e.g., symbols, shapes, colors).

  5. Brainstorm Identity Elements

    • Ask students what makes them unique (hobbies, traits, cultural elements).

    • Record ideas on chart paper or a whiteboard for inspiration.

  6. Create Name Designs
